The Secret Weapons is a group of down and dirty hoodlums from New York City who don't want to reveal their identity. "Bumps" starts off with a recording from the famous "Eldorado" bumper car disco in Coney Island and is the story of another night on the town gone bad. As the song and the night progresses the condition of this character "deteriorates" into all stages of delusion, deceit and debauchery and A Touch Of Class accompany him with some sloppy production techniques.
"Nervous Breakdown" originally performed by the punk band Black Flag is mixed here by no one else than legendary producer Roli Mosimann (The Swans, The The, Faith No More). In true punk fashion he used the whole stereophonic spectrum especially useful on New York's cutting edge (or may we say cutting costs) sound systems! Played in mono however you get the more customary approach. Try it out.
A Touch Of Class continue to make no compromises when it comes to their releases. Definitely not PG-13 material and will certainly not be included in the next "feel good" soundtrack.
