THE ONES

In only a short period of time THE ONES have already begun to create quite a stir in their Native NY and even beyond. In part, their quick rise in the NY scene is due to the strenth of their debut single, "FLAWLESS". Before the record even came out, practically every DJ in NY was playing this groovy, housy, retro-futuristic piece of electronic funk brimming with humor and attitude.

Produced by the New York City (Chinatown) based Electro-Punque driven production duo known as A TOUCH OF CLASS, and released on their label imprint ATOC (A Touch Of Class Recordings), the A side of "FLAWLESS" features the Italo Disco Mix with charged-up electro-driven beats and vocal snippets. The Original Dub Mix contains a more down-tempoish groove and is made- to- measure for the catwalk. On the B side you'll find the Ibiza -Anthem compatible interpretation courtesy of the Italian based Bustin' Loose posse DW Boys and the more minimalistic approach by DJ Will & Gant Johnson.

The song was a perfect match for THE ONES who's members were made up of some very influencial nightclub, music and fashion denizens. Paul Alexander, JoJo Americo and Nashom met each other while working at the legendary clothing design boutique in Greenwich Village, Patricia Field. Each had a strong background in performing, DJing and being stylists within the underground NY club and fashion scene.

Paul Alexander has lent his vocals to some of the best in house music history, songs like "Give Me Love", produced by David Morales, "Walk For Me (Paul's Groove) produced by Peter Rauhofer and "H20, The Flow" produced by Oliver Stumm--just to name a few. JoJo Americo, aside for being known for his styling and painting, had one of his songs, "Headhunter" appear on Danny Teneglia's album "Tourism" also produced by Danny Teneglia. And Nashom, after years of garnering a strong following performing as his alter ego, Mona Foot, has gotten cast in TV and film roles acting with Robert Deniro in the Joel Schumacher directed, "Flawless, "Swoon" directed by Tom Calin and appeared in an episopde of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. Nasham also has his own single, "I'll Be Here" produced by Automagic, coming out on David Morales label, Definity Records.

So what happens when you put three such multitalented, creative, artistic and stylish individuals into one ubergroup? Just ask anyone who got a chance to see their showstoping performance at Wigstock 2000 in NYC and they'd have one word to say: "FLAWLESS" ! --Ari Gold
