REBELS WITHOUT A CAUSE
What do you do when nothing in life seems to have a meaning and you are bored with yet another PR campaign of senseless stimuli?
You take three people who have nothing in common and create a song with made-up words in a language that doesn't exist: Strange Sounds. Would you like to sing along?
Manuel Mind started writing music reviews in newspapers and magazines at the age of 14. He worked in Swiss distribution companies and record stores and is considered one of the swiss techno pioneers. The 28 year old Swiss electronic music expert has produced singles for Force Inc., Music Works and Trigger Records as Energy Flash together with Marco Repetto (ex Grauzone "Eisbaer") and is best known for his compilation series "Future Sounds of Zurich" (Energetic/Warner). He is known to be controversial and provocative, tirelessly pushing musical barriers without compromise.
Valentino Tomasi, an intellectual pianist with a secret love for italian disco kitsch, can be spotted every so often on a dance floor somewhere between London and Budapest. Brought up with the highest educational background he likes to dabble in the culture of mainstream lifestyles. He can be found dining in Portofino on one night while on a dance floor in Riccione on another.
Dirk Spacek doesn't understand all the sudden interest of the "hideous 80s plastic music". To him it doesn't make any sense at all. Applying his vocal talents he gives his interpretation to all this expressing the "inner voices" that he hears with words he just made up: strange sounds in his head. They wanted a vocoder effect but didn't have one on hand so Dirk quite simply held his nose closed to assimilate the effect which makes his vocal performance even more unique and mystical thus explaining the cover art.
That's when the electro-punque duo Domie Le Touch & Toni Class aka A Touch Of Class who have been playing this strange demo on their "VIPs Only Tour" decided this needs a proper release. Remixing this track out of their New York based China Town studios and having another mix made by their proteges Waldorf in Milano, "Strange Sounds" gets an even more mondaine touch.
All this combined gives you a package that is impossible to market. Happy now?
BITTE UNTERSTUETZEN SIE UNSERE KUENSTLER, DENN SIE WISSEN NICHT WAS SIE TUN!
