A Touch Of Class Sucks! is a multi-artist album of production and mixes by the two NY based artists Oliver Stumm & Dominique Clausen aka A Touch Of Class released on their own label imprint ATOC Recordings. They have been a favorite in fashion circles and fit style-wise somewhere between Electro/Disco/Punk and Dance Rock, combining real instruments, electronics and vocals with attitude covering a broad spectrum.

Bored with easy assembled lifestyles, magazine hype and industry compromises they've decided to create their own platform thus keeping total independence and control. They use the name A Touch Of Class as an umbrella for all their activities and interests such as music production, artwork, design of their website, their record label or creating their own installations and events. With educational backgrounds ranging from visual design to mathematics the two concentrate on product development and high craftsmanship rather than publicity hype and conventional marketing strategies. With this "grass roots" philosophy they have established a name in NYC and have performed with the likes of 2many DJs, Tiga, James Murphy (DFA) and their work is being rotated by internationally renowned DJs like Erol Alkan (Trash, UK) and Felix da Housecat. Their work has been included on numerous boutique compilations like "COLETTE", "Hang the DJ Vol.2" (2Many DJs), "Tiga's Turbo Sessions Vol.3" and has been included in the upcoming picture "Party Monster" featuring Macaulay Culkin and Chloe Sevigny as well as the Michael and Kirk Douglas movie "A Few More Years".

A Touch Of Class Sucks! is a collection of their work including productions such as The Ones "Flawless" (top ten hit in the U.K.), the anthemic Scissor Sisters "Comfortably Numb" as well as the 1983 electro-disco classic Klein MBO "Dirty Talk". ATOC Sucks! has already received rave reviews and has been listed in name worthy DJ charts. The 12 track vinyl release contains 7 new songs such as their production work with A.R.E. Weapons (Roughtrade) as well as their own contributions as artists released here for the fist time. Defying specific genres this LP contains various musical styles grouped together on each vinyl side titled Disco Sucks!, Electro Sucks!, Rock Sucks!, Punk Sucks!. The CD includes an additional 3 bonus tracks for an overall 15 songs (not beat mixed).

"With the title A Touch Of Class Sucks! we are ironically addressing the issue of publicity campaigns of "imaginary" bands pushed in lifestyle magazines as well as making a reference to the late 1970's "Disco Sucks!" campaign against one of the most influential musical styles of our time."
